Chenango United Way dedicates the 19 of every month to "live united" in the community
CHENANGO COUNTY–On Friday, May 19 the Chenango United Way will host the first of many special Chenango United Way days to be held on the 19 of each month of the year. The Chenango United Way is calling this the 19 project.
“The 19 project will be our way of identifying the 19th of every month as “United Way Day”-starting this week and every month for the next three years (2017-2019). It also launches our publicity around our new goal for the next three years- $419,000”, said Elizabeth Monaco, Executive Director of Chenango United Way.
On the 19 of each month, the Chenango United Way will be asking people in the community to wear black and white in support of the Chenango United Way and to submit selfies of themselves on social media through the Chenango United Way Facebook page and through their Twitter account #chenangounitedway or #19thproject.
Each month the project will be highlighting local United Way funded programs, highlighting local United Way needs and data, talking about what is means to “Live United” and getting the word out to the community about the value and importance of a strong local United Way in Chenango County.
The Chenango United Way encourages everyone to get involved and help this Friday with wearing black and white or a Live United shirt or bracelet, to volunteer in the community, advocate for those in need and spread the word so we may all “Live United”.
